
Stream Stage is Daniel Abrahamson and Kayla James, a young married couple in Toronto, ON with over a decade of experience in producing live theatre; including musical direction, direction, and choreography.
Kayla is a choreographer and director, seasoned performer, and teacher. Kayla choreographed and associate directed on Super School!, the first Canadian zoom musical with Bravo Academy. She also choreographed Theatre Sheridan’s production of The Stars of Mars, after spending the past few seasons assisting on their productions (On The Town, Crazy For You, and Footloose). Favourite performance credits include Crazy For You, Man of La Mancha, 42nd Street (Stratford Festival), Holiday Inn (Shaw Festival), and Anne of Green Gables (Charlottetown Festival). Kayla is also the founder of Leg Up Alliance a mentorship program for emerging artists, check it out on instagram @legup_alliance.
Daniel is an award winning composer and lyricist in Toronto, ON. He composed the scores for “Funny Business” (Best of Fringe, published by Samuel French), “Act Now” (Best of Fringe), and “Hugh and I” (Patron's Pick). He’s the 2019 recipient of the Tom Hendry Award for Best Musical in Development from the Playwrights Guild of Canada for "Stars of Mars" which premiered at Sheridan College February 2020. In May 2020 his new musical "Super School!" premiered at Bravo Academy, and was an O'Neill Festival Semifinalist in NYC, where Daniel is a second year member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop and sold out a concert of his songs at 54 Below in March 2019 and Birdland Theatre in December 2019.
Dan and Kayla are innovators in the new realm of digital theatre, seeking out and solving the unique challenges such as remote musical collaboration, seamless video integration, multi-camera live broadcasting and mixed media digital presentations. Recent digital theatre projects include SuperSchool and Canadian Movement; mixed media live broadcasts, Boy Falls From the Sky, Live Online and Gabi Epstein OnLIVE; multi camera live shows, and The New Local; an isolation concert series featuring Canadian musical theatre stars live in partnership with local restaurants.
